What is GEAR?
GEAR — Gun Empowerment and Adventure Recreation — is a GOA-led initiative created to unite two communities that already share the same values: firearms enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers.
GEAR is built for people who believe freedom is meant to be lived, not just watched from the couch. It brings together firearms enthusiasts, overlanders, offroaders, and outdoor families who value self-sufficiency, responsibility, and exploration — getting off the beaten path, reconnecting with nature, and rekindling the American spirit of exploration.

The Second Annual GEAR Summit
Set across 5,500 acres of rugged Texas terrain, the GEAR Summit is a three-day, family-friendly experience featuring a live-fire range, guided trail runs, hands-on training, product demos, and evening campfire gatherings. It’s a working range, real trails, and a community built around capability, responsibility, and adventure.
Get hands-on time with products from your favorite firearms and overlanding companies — and meet some of your favorite YouTube content creators from the overlanding and firearms communities.

- Live-fire ranges run by certified Range Safety Officers — demo the newest firearms from top manufacturers
- Guided off-road trail runs across the park, from beginner routes to highly technical rock crawling
- Hands-on firearms and off-road training and demonstrations all weekend
- Over 100 manufacturer booths from major firearms and outdoor brands
- Recovery, navigation, and camping demonstrations
- VIP machine gun and .50 BMG shooting experiences
- Night events, including suppressed and night-vision shooting
- On-site camping for over 400 vehicles
- Food trucks, live music, bonfires, and movie & s'mores nights
- A fully supervised Kids Adventure Zone
